Pella & Carta, the automotive component manufacturer from Italy, signed a MoU with Khed city to set up their genuine leather manufacturing unit. Pella & Carta is a well-known name in the automobile industry with an immense expertise in supplying & trading of genuine leather seat cover. They are currently engaged in the business of supplying automotive seating components & automotive seating upholstery substrates made of PVC, coated fabric, leather, rubber etc. to the automotive industry.
The investment has been estimated to be around Rs. 22 Crore with a unit spread across 4.05 acres of land in Khed City. Interestingly, Pelle & Carta becomes the first Italian company to invest in Khed city among a host of companies from various other nationalities. Global auto manufacturers have invested in the industrial land in Pune region owing to the availability of skilled labor at lower cost and rising economies of the adjacent areas, which in turn is boosting the auto sector here.
P & C will join other automotive component manufacturers such as Gedia India Automotive Components Pvt. Ltd. (Germany), Alicon Castalloy Ltd., Sandhar Technologies Ltd., Deeksha Exports Pvt. Ltd., Onkar Dyes Pvt. Ltd., AutoGen India Pvt. Ltd.(South Korea), & Maxion Wheels Aluminum India Pvt. Ltd. (Brazil), all of whom are currently operational in Khed City.
